I do sort of wonder why Vienna has gotten so popular in recent years. Proximity to jobs in Tysons, but some of the housing stock is meh.

It's a better commute than most of Mclean (more convenient metro and better access to 66) with more retail/commercial nearby. Like any place, there are both nice houses and less nice houses.

I know there’s to be a house for every taste but there are so many new builds from tear downs that are aggressively ugly and then priced at 1.2 million/above. Many examples out there but I do wonder how long these sit on the market and then if buyers end up considering tearing it down again.

They're not just ugly, they're cheap AF. Seriously, that porch roof is going to cause big issues. I wonder what other awful mishaps the builder did in this trainwreck of a house.

what's wrong with the porch..other than it being ugly and too small?

Both porches are looking unfinished on the underside, but the back porch slopes directly towards the house. It’s mind boggling.

no no...the back porch will provide a water feature into the breakfast area.

There is a sucker for every situation....because its a "new" albeit cheap, ugly home, someone will purchase it, perhaps a bit less than the asking $2m price. The schools and location will save this clusterf$$$ of a project but the owner will lose $$, lucky to get their cost returned.

I'm pretty sure this house has been listed before, with pictures of the inside. Does anyone else remember that? I recall the layout being odd and definitely designed for multi-generational living.

It's obviously not built by a reputable construction company. Your standard Toll Bros or whatever has a much more functional floorplan and coherency to it. But this screams jerry built small time builder. I'm thinking someone not familiar with American home construction. Layout is ridiculous and staggering amount of wasted space. Pointless little living room only 10 ft wide. No guest bathroom.

Wait, that is a NEW CONSTRUCTION?? Did the land owner design and build it by themselves? What on earth? They clearly have never even tried to put a car in/take it out of the garage. No one will buy that monstrosity.

This is why we won’t consider Vienna. Not every house is like this, but way too many are. It’s why Vienna will never truly be “high-end.”
