Not even any of hurtin Billy Joel quality
She needs to write one even if she has to secretly hire someone else to do it.

I say that as someone who likes her music a decent amount and thinks she has a handful of really great songs, most recently Anti-hero. But somewhat surprisingly for someone who has a ton of cross-over appeal (not just country to pop as she made that transition, but has also worked with artists like Kendrick Lamar and others from rap/R&B backgrounds), her music just doesn't have that kind of universality. She writes music for a specific audience. That audience LOVES her and is large and devoted. But people outside her fan base are indifferent. Her music just doesn't hit. It's a bunch of factors.
I don't actually think it undermines her legacy as an artist. She will just have a more nice legacy. That's okay!

No Doubt!

I’m pretty neutral about her, neither a fan nor a hater. But it would be a shame if that ends up being the song that sticks for decades. I know she’s more talented than that.
