I use the SmarTrip app and add money though my iPhone wallet. I don’t know how to use that for multiple though.

The Wmata website has a phone number at the bottom of this page, try calling them.

I think all stations still sell fare cards. They are $2 plus the fare. I have several for my kid and visiting family / friends to use.

Do you have to buy a card in addition to the fare? The card is an additional cost?


Most stations don't have cards now (I thought?), but buying them on your phone in the SmarTrip app is very easy.


Every station I have been to has cards.

My kid swipes her pass and it is free. Then I swipe mine and pay.
