It’s not cotton, it’s a linen blend. I think that’s too daytime.

But if you wear some jewelry and you’re thin, it’s probably fine.

Its not the color, it’s that it just doesn’t look dressy enough for “black tie optional.” You would most likely feel very underdressed for this level of formality.
