But yes, it’s not magic. It’s just that protein keeps us full longer. So an egg, although it has less protein, also has fat which is works too.

But a scoop of protein gives you 20-36 g of protein that most dieters need anyway. IME, whey protein doesn’t mix well though. That’s why I use collagen.

I have collegen coffee and a small high protein breakfast like Greek yogurt.

The flavored protein powders have a lot of additives

Let’s not encourage orthorexia. It’s basically powdered milk.

And what do you think makes it tastes like cookies, lemon bars, salted caramel and whatever other flavors are out there? They are filled with palm kernel oil and some combination of sucralose, stevia, or erythritol

New word for me. Have never heard this term.

I don’t think it’s orthorexic to note that a lot of protein powders are highly processed food. It’s just true.

Different approach. But I’ve used coffee instead of hot water to make oatmeal. Add a splash of milk to get to my desired consistency, maybe sometimes a little honey or maple syrup to reduce acidity depending on the coffee. Delicious

As PP said, eat a hardboiled egg or two with your coffee. Or a spoonful of natural peanut butter. Or a handful of nuts. Or some cheese.

Cookies and cream protein powder? Is that made from people?

I've mixed protein powder and coffee for a while, makes the protein easier to take because I love coffee so much.

Your choices are low protein (6 gm in eggs) and/or very high in fat, like peanut butter, nuts, cheese. If you are going to give advice, at least make it decent.

I've been doing this for years (in my coffee) however it's not a complete protein so I don't really count it towards my total protein intake goal. I take it for the other benefits it provides. For protein in the morning just have an egg or two, you can't beat the nutrition punch it provides!

agree. I’m the poster you quoted. I’ve been using the collagen powder for ostensible injury prevention from a lot of exercise volume. It’s sort of “if it’s not broken don’t fix it” sort of thing for me now that’s it’s part of my routine.

So what does a proffee drink consist of? Coffee and?

google it

DP. If someone starts a thread about topic and doesn't really explain it, sure, I guess we could all Google. But maybe, you know, it wouldn't hurt to add some context. Otherwise, what's the point of having a thread? Isn't it supposed to be a conversation? Not just a reminder that we all have the same search engines?

Well the Op asks if you have tried it. You obviously haven’t lol so I’m not sure what your expectation is. When I click on a link that I don’t know anything about I Google it rather than ask others to explain.

Do people like you open every single thread looking to pick it apart and chastise the poster? This entire exchange is unnecessary.

I have to agree. Cookies and cream protein power? Likely some blend of palm kernel oils, stevia, and gums, fake sugars. Just eat real food like an egg or nuts.
