Exactly. It’s a no name school. Better to get a degree somewhere better. No one cares who plays sports in college.

I've heard the coach is a real pill and pits players against each other as "motivation". Would you daughter thrive under that kind of coaching?

It's d3. Theres no cheddar offered. Unless you get academic money.

You must not know how this game works. Sure there “no money” for D3 athletics, but somehow merit money materializes for the kids they really want on the team.

My kid chose D3 over D1 because not only was the academics better at the D3 he basically got a full ride disguised as merit.

Sometimes cheddar is chunk cheese, sometimes it’s sliced and sometimes it’s shredded. But it’s all cheddar in the end….

Congratulations! That is fantastic! For anyone else interested in CNU - they are having a prospect day on Sept 23.

A great opportunity to play at the collegiate level, stay in state and live on a beautiful campus!

Congratulations! Your daughter will be one of only 12.5% of high school lacrosse athletes who go on to play in college - celebrate!

This is a good post; congrats to your daughter for earning this impressive opportunity to play college lax at a good school. One thing to look at is the academic majors and how they align with your daughter's interests, as well as what other offers she may receive, of course. For what it's worth, there Education Department is very strong and they produce a lot of great teachers.

I would ignore some of the elitist responses from those that believe there are only 25 or so worthy lax programs, or Ivy League and NESCAC schools. Bigger landscape out there that can provide good outcomes. It should be about the right fit.

I would base the decision on what academic program she is most interested in.
