5 kids here. Mom, daughters, and baby in one room. Dad and sons in the other.

We have four kids, so we've always gotten the kids their own room once they were toilet trained.

It costs more, but everyone is happier for the extra space.

For us, everyone is happier when our checkout bill is $3500 instead of $7000 lol

I bet the kids aren’t. Cheapo.

DP here. They are. They get to stay in nicer hotels, have nicer excursions and a larger souvenir budget. They truly don’t mind. Sorry yours do.

Yes almost always, we have two teens. If it’s a sports tournament and it’s only one parent and one kid, will share a room.

Nope!

Recently though, in Europe, we had to get a double room (queen bed) and a single room (full bed). The rooms are just smaller and the pricing structure made it even out. Teen enjoyed it, and when I was feeling sick one night DH slept with teen to preserve his immune system!

On the second leg we got a "junior suite" which in Europe was a King bed and a pull-out Queen sofa. Teen was a little more attitudinal that stint, but it was the second half so I'll allow it.

Same. I have a 13 and 16 year old. We would all love another rooms, but even one room ends up being expensive for us! So two double beds it is…

I have three teens and we get them a second room (ideally adjoining) when we travel as a whole family. But when I travel with just one or two of them we only get one room.

No, but for more than a night I try for a residential suite type place and put my teen on the pullout couch and me in the bedroom. Also, for an actual vacation we rent a house and multiple bedrooms.

This and we need the second shower on a cruise. Because of cruise pricing and what you have to pay for the 3rd/4th room occupant anyway, a second room is barely any more money.

Yes. 2 rooms. Teens in 1 and parents in the other.

We've done both and prefer Airbnb so everyone can get their own bedroom

Nope. We cram all five of us in a room with a rollaway. What a dumb thing to spend money on! (We also get an air BnB or house for longer than 2-3 nights everywhere but Disney/Universal).
