Yeah, I’m familiar with this age group and wouldn’t put any stock in this dude’s soccer evaluation skills.
OP—start by looking at Bethesda and Potomac. Also check out PPA. Their team won’t likely be as strong this year after the exodus to Potomac, but they have some good players and coaches.

I imagine a 15 year old can play semi pro/pro and get as much or even more experience (at least if he’s trying to go abroad) there as going to MLSNext.
Arguably their best coach is head of second team. Claims players (and this is heard second, possibly third hand) work harder than top team. I don’t know. Happy to have paid my Bethesda fees on boys side and finished

If you are in Bethesda you should also look at Arlington and VA Union for a 2009 boy. Both have solid teams at that age group. And commute is reasonable.
Given timing (teams already formed) you need to cast a wider net to ensure a spot on either MLS or ECNL…

Pretty sure that yes, Bethesda Blue 2009 will be in the NAL league. Their coach also coaches the 2010 MLSNext team.

Isn’t the U19 new?
Yes. Last year it was U13, U14, and U16 (2010s, 2009s, and 2007s)
This year it's 2011s, 2010s, 2008s, and 2005s.
I hope they brought in enough kids to make that work and found places for their 09s and 07s that aren't strong enough to play up.

Last year he played in another state. This year he decided that he was going to just play varsity, at least for the fall, and adjust to a new city and 9th grade. But now the kids at soccer camp have convinced him otherwise.
So you’re saying he’s an incoming freshmen, new to the state, that already has a Varsity offer? Sounds fishy OP!
Sorry I meant high school. He’ll be at a small school where JV is no cut so he will definitely be on the team.
