1. Lots of fruits and vegetables for fiber
2. Probiotic (Chobani yogurt is my favorite)

All you need to do is stay away from red meat, processed meats, ultra processed foods, alcohol. Then make sure you eat a lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

There are a lot of essential nutrients in red meat, good quality red meat. The rest I 100% agree with.

The higher your consumption of red meat, with higher your rates of stomach/GI cancers. “Quality” doesn’t matter.

Not the person you're responding to, but quality does matter. Read the studies. Yes, if you chose to have meat only do it small quantities and not often-use it more like a condiment, and make vegetables the star. That said, big difference between grass fed and the regular run of the mill red meat.

Ok, agree with that. But eating red meat frequently, regardless of quality, isn’t good for you.

I've never had an issue with regularity. I eat a normal American diet-- probably more veggies, fruits, and whole grains than most-- but I'm thin so I don't eat a ton. It works for my gut.

I am interested in microbiomes and how they tend to predict mental and physical health. People with healthy microbiomes have a lot of social connections, pets, and tend to exercise.

what's in red meat that you can't get it from other sources?

It's difficult to get high quality heme from other sources, but not impossible. It's still a fact that high quality red meat can be nutritious in moderation.

This, but type 4 bristow scale (look it up), good quantity poops at least 1x a day and easy clean up. If you have to wipe a ton, that is not ideal poop.

You are always better off with unprocessed real fruits and vegetables. It is better than nothing, but you are so much better off taking the time to make yourself a real smoothie with real vegetables where the only processing happening is in your blender.

Cabbage and Kimchi are great- I hesitate to buy grocery store kimchi though, feel like a legit Korea restaurant source is better. Also, I avoid artificial sweeteners and processed food.

Get the book "Fiber Fueled" by Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, or just follow him on Instagram. Some of the claims in the book are a little too sweeping/based on cherry-picked evidence for me to say it's 100% solid science, but it DID change how I approach eating and has really helped my GI system.

Korean American here. It's not true that Korean restaurants source kimchee better. A lot of kimchee that has flooded the markets in Korea even at restaurants is from China. In fact some Korean restaurants in Korea post signs saying their kimchee is domestic. You can get smaller plastic jars of kimchee at Korean markets like H-Mart. Look for the one with oyster and/or shrimp paste which definitely improves the flavor than just the ones with straight cabbage and/or other fermented vegetable (i.e., radish, cucumber, etc.).

Keffir

INULIN (Not Insulin) fiber. It is a prebiotic.

Oatmeal in the morning

Half glass of celery juice in the morning on getting up.

Lots and lots of fresh vegetable and fruits in each meal. Your first course should be a huge bowl of salad

Plant-based whole food mainly. No junk. No alcohol, tobacco or cola. Limit dairy to keffir, milk for your daily cup of coffee and home made yogurt.

Hydrating a lot with lemon water. Drinking a lot of soups.

Poop daily and at a regular time using '"squatty potty". You need to sit on the toilet seat and put your feet on the squatty potty for at least 10 minutest for the process to start. Your gut may be used to not pooping on schedule.

walk 10k steps a day and do yoga or swimming.

Take magnesium supplement at night.
