If ur kid is someone who would barely make their high school team, what’s the point? Even if they make the team, they prob won’t get much playing time.
Obviously, a lot of kids want to be on the team even if they won't play much. Its incredibly hard to make the HS teams for normal kid sports in FCPS public schools. No one wants homeschoolers fighting for spots--especially the parents of the borderline kids! Sorry, enroll in school if you want to partake in school activities.

Plenty are and that’s the reason they are not in public school, because they are focusing on training at a higher level. These kids do not want spots on the local high school team. This isn’t an issue.

Not necessarily true. I was at a club swim meet last fall and met a mom who homeschools her son. He had just turned 13 that week and was an incredibly fast swimmer. She asked what she thought he missed out on by being on just a club team versus club + varsity. Since it won’t affect him swimming, recruiting, coaching, getting times from swim meets, pool time, etc, I came up with: a few extra meets, socializing. She looked at me and said- is that it? Ok, we’re good then.
-(our varsity coach provides virtually zero real coaching compared to our club coach)
- serious club swimmers only typically do a single HS practice each week because it’s required, not because it’s a better practice.
My kids love varsity swimming, but if you’re not already in HS and are otherwise doing a sport elsewhere, it’s not a big deal.

I’ve looked at this organization and they also have other sports. If anyone knows if others, please post. My kid attends a small private school that doesn’t have sports. He has no desire to play for his former, public high school anyway.

There aren't any no-cut teams at our large FCPS public school. There are cuts for everything.

TJ would play football against a team of nuns if the opportunity arose. Their schedule is such a joke, especially now that they have to let average kids into the school.

I'd be happy to include home-schoolers on HS teams so long as those teams were no cut (i.e. there was room for anyone from the school who wanted to play). I don't think displacing school students for homeschoolers is fair.
