PP here. Sorry, I must be wrong about this. I do remember there was a discussion about dropping it when I was a teen, and my parents were basically pro dropping it although they would have regretted the loss of a tune they grew up with. Our church never, ever, sings it.

I think that term was made up very recently, so I doubt there exists a flag for it.

I’ve seen it flown above a church in my (not DMV) area. And .. my preschooler pledged allegiance first to the US flag, then to the Christian flag in school. It was just one year at a private preK. I only found out when they needed me to sub one day.

I went to a small Christian elementary school at a Nazarene church in the 70s and 80s and we had to say a pledge to this flag after the pledge to the US flag every morning before going into the school. I've only attended Catholic Churches as an adult so haven't seen this flag for decades.

Who knows the motivation of the person flying it. Maybe the Christian nationalists are co-opting it now.

DP. It's actually still in the last approved primary Episcopal Church hymnal (#562 in the Hymnal 1982). The only things approved since then are supplements like Lift Every Voice and Sing and Wonder, Love, and Praise, but those don't usually duplicate what's in the Hymnal 1982 because they're supplements.

Other denominations might have gotten rid of it.
