If one is in a position to afford new items easily, I think paying it forward is the right call. If the family is in need of money? absolutely she should sell if possible.
+1. My kids live in Carter's/Target/Old Navy type stuff, and I sell the higher end stuff that were gifts and were unworn or worn once for show or holiday. Every little bit helps in our household.
