I fly with BA a lot with my kid. I don’t plan on my own entertainment because the planes have it. I would be pissed too if the inflight audio wasn’t working.
I would send them an email OP. I would want the upgrade money refunded.

I flew Jet Blue with my two kids ages 10 and 12 and none of our entertainment systems worked. I wrote complaining and they gave us $25 credits.

There were no other open seats, and he was on the aisle and didn’t want to switch seats with me to be in the middle. And for those saying “you’re paying to get from point A to point B,” no, we each paid $375 extra to have a NICER trip from point A to point B. And “nicer”, in my estimation, includes the ability to read and/or watch movies.

I think that's reasonable or to switch you if there are open seats in the same class. Why didn't you switch seats with your husband? Most people bring a tablet with them.

What charge? Airlines don’t itemize entertainment on the ticket. What a stupid response.

True story: I once upgraded to FIRST CLASS on a British Airways flight to DC from London and the entertainment system didn't work. Oh well.


+1. I took an 8 hour international flight in business class and the power was out. Yep, no power. We couldn’t even move our seats. We didn’t even get an apology let alone some kind of refund. OP should be happy with what she got.
