The POA is irrelevant as long as she is alert and capacitated. The PP who pointed out she will need to assert herself if she dislikes how DH is handling things is correct. Now, family can offer her support and voice their concerns, but they cannot force the issue. Family can share their concerns with the hospital SW, but again, the patient is the decision maker for better or for worse.

Initially this was not their preference, in order to maintain decent relations. But yeah sent them some lawyers to consult after the latest.

No I think most people would want their spouse to deal with their medical issues and not their parents.

She already granted POA to her family rather than husband.

I don't know anything about the hospital your relative is in, but the hospital I work at only allows two visitors per day and two people that can receive phone updates from staff. If another family member wants an update, they either need to go through the person identified by the patient or the patient herself.
