For girls, I see that UMD now has listed on their website an "elite residential camp" for 6th to 12th grade, July 22-25, though registration not yet open. I see responses on this thread about the boys' UMD camp which is separately run; any feedback/experience with girls'?

I'm searching for recommendations for summer soccer camps in Virginia for my ECNL level 2010 daughter. In the past, she's done both UVA camps (Charlottesville and Alexandria) and the Dutch Pro camp. They were fine. (Dutch one was the biggest challenge because she was the only girl for the session coincidentally). Any other camps that we should consider?

U9 Daughter loved Challenger International camp run by FFX Cty parks and Rec. Coaches are international, younger and fun for the kids. Had a daily pool break. Might be sold out by now. Good for Rec and Travel U7-U11. Multiple locations.

Neither is going to significantly affect anyone's skill level, for sure, but the Maryland experience was more valuable and fun.
Our boys did not go to the UVA camp but would have the same assessment of the UMD camp as PP.

Any updates or additions as we're heading into summer 2024? My daughter did not particularly love UVA last summer. No feedback from coaches. Girls weren't grouped by ability; entire teams played together, with random girls added.

I have found the big clubs camps’training better vs local club camp, overnight UVA or SJC. The locals camps are just the same old same old.
My kid (who is a reliable-ish) reporter said UVA was mostly games and scrimmages and not much instruction
Same with VT elite camp. Majority were top level players on the girls side 15 and older with several college scouts in attendance. Seems like some of the local attendees not staying in the dorms were out of their element.

I think that you may be thinking of Dutch Soccer School? Our kids haven't done that one but I've heard it's good.
DS thought that the UMD camp was fun but a mix of skill levels (from strong rec player to more elite). He enjoyed working with the UMD team and staying on campus and would be happy to go back.
Agree with previous comments re Next Star and Achilles (evening camp). These are good camps for more advanced players or kids that want to be challenged.
Real Madrid and Arsenal had a range of skill levels and DS enjoyed them. Not sure how much he learned, but he had fun. He strongly disliked the DC United camp organized through Head First (few years ago).
Four Soccer, Achilles day camp, and DCYFC Brazil camp are more focused on playing for fun (not a knock, just depends on what you are looking for).
