+2. They are going to Yorktown so it would make sense to change the MS to Williamsburg. Good for the school bus route, good for keeping planning units together, good for diversity. The Williamsburg diversity is frankly pitiful.
Rosslyn should be going to WL. You drive past it halfway on the way to Yorktown, just like you drive past Hamm halfway on the way to Williamsburg.
In your scenario, who gets carved off to go Yorktown to make up Rosslyn’s population?
Pull from below 50.
But which neighborhoods wouldn’t “pass” WL en route to Yorktown? I’m not sure the commute would be any shorter.

And then the DHMS walk zone would still be bused? So you want to abolish HBW — I could get behind that.

I'm not sure I get this comment. It's not much of a longer ride to be buses to Williamsburg over Hamm. Where were those kids bused before Hamm opened?
I'm not affected, but do think it's a pretty odd choice by APS not to take advantage of the walk zones for Hamm. For the kids in the Rosslyn corridor, I'm not sure the difference between Hamm and Williamsburg is that significant. They're already getting on a bus and Williamsburg isn't that much farther. It also would be great for diversity for Williamsburg to pull from more diverse zones.
I agree with this, even though it would probably mean putting my kids on a bus. APS has to start being more efficient. Rosslyn isn’t in a walk zone for anything and this is a small county. I wouldn’t bus kids in a walk zone to Hamm when there are relatively nearby kids that aren’t in a walk zone to anything.
I would be surprised if they put Rosslyn back at Williamsburg. Look at the parking minimums they are letting APAH get away with in their new developments at Queens Court and Marbella. Then look at the bus routes to Williamsburg. You can try to advocate for Rosslyn to get on a cross county bus, but it’s not going to happen.
Cross county bus? Stop being exaggerating. That's where those kids went before Hamm and it was fine then.
I’m talking about public transportation, not the school bus. Presumably you want parents to be able to pick up sick kids, etc. you should have said something when they were approving all the new developments with no parking.
