Come on, for the 3-6 year olds, Legoland is fine. Good even. And you can often get "kids go free" with paying adult tickets, so it's about half the cost of Disney. Do I think it's better than Disney? Of course not. But it's so manageable and so easily reachable from San Diego. If you like Lego, it's a fun easy day. I'm headed that way in a week, and we may try the Legoland water park too this time. Granted, we stay super-close in Encinitas, but I'm chiming in as I think folks with young kids shouldn't automatically remove it from their trip list.

Here's a kids go free link: https://www.legoland.com/california/promotions/kids-go-free-valpak/

Yet some people manage to live there year round.

I agree with previous posters that Disneyland is far better than Legoland and is about a two hour drive. Leave at 7am and have an amazing day. It's much more compact and walkable than the Disney World.

I'm from SD and we've stayed at the Estancia multiple times. You still have to drive to do anything (the worst thing about so Cal).

+1

Skip Legoland.
