I've been to the Rockville Friends of the Library and had good luck there when I go in with a list of authors I'm interested in.

Online I've used Wonder Books. They also have a storefront in Gaithersburg that is huge. The one time I was there I didn't really have time to look around but they had a ton of books.

Also, look at alibris and abebooks. I think abebooks is owned by amazon but branded separatelyg.

Used to go there all the time when kids were younger and reading one book every couple of weeks. They don't do that anymore; they're teens. But, it's a great resource. We'd come away with two shopping bags full.

When I’m looking for something specific, I use Biblio.com.

I just wander around. The only time they will have an exact title is for a best seller or a classic.

Bookfinder.com
It searches several used book stores at once and finds you the best price. It's awesome.

Goodwill has a lot of used books!
Also ebay.

I also always shop the library book sales, but I don't usually look for specific titles.

I have a list of books that I'm interested, so I just look for them at Friends of the Library and my luck finding them is about 0-50%, depending on a book. FOL in Rockville has a very good volunteer who seems to know their stock pretty well. I don't know his name but always happy to see him as he is very helpful.
