How many hours of lessons do you think it takes to teach an adult newbie circular breathing, treading water, and freestyle?

If you can swim breaststroke, you can swim.

Please don’t let your weight stop you from swimming if you want to swim. Fellow fat lady-and people are too busy doing their own thing to notice you, I promise!

What's your goal? I'm a mediocre swimmer but it doesn't interfere with my life, and when I do swim I get a great workout precisely because I'm so inefficient: it takes a huge amount of energy just to get across the pool. So in that sense, I count it as a positive.

I dream to be able to swim as well as OP. I really can’t swim or float. I’ve taken adult swim lessons but get frustrated that I can’t even float. I made sure DCs took lessons early on and both are great swimmers in all 4 strokes. I’m proud of the fact that I got them to learn at an early age. I’ve been thinking about trying to learn again - we’ll see.

I swim like you, OP. And I have three kids in club swimming. One very talented. I don't need to be good at the things they're good at.
