Two of my clients attended. They loved it and would recommend the school.

At least one has a very tight group of friends.

#1 PT program

Attending UD would not limit jobs to this region. Only the graduate themselves would limit their choices.

Used to have a very strong Chemical/Polymer engineering programs (DuPont and other companies in the area).

They have a good psychology department. We know one rising sophomore who did their first semester abroad - not sure if that was how they were admitted (special program?) or by choice.

Many of my friends who went there moved to Philly area - actually just saw one of them when we went for a couple days over spring break. No different than 2 of my college friends (I went to school in NC) who now live in the Jersey burbs of Philly - she's a lawyer and he's got an MBA.

There is nothing wrong with the mid-Atlantic. Good place to live.

BTW Joe Biden graduated there.

I don't think that's true at all. Everyone I know who went there works in NYC, Philly, or Washington, but that's by preference -- not because they were boxed in. These include people thriving in finance, law, and media.

Cause it is Delaware, New Jersey, Long island and Maryland kids

I liked my experience at UD.

Expect a lot of classmates from Long Island and from New Jersey. There are also a lot from the Media area of Pennsylvania.

I hardly ever met anyone from my home state of Maryland although my college roommate was from Towson.

A lot of African American Delaware residents go to Del State in Dover and also to Del Tech in Georgetown.
Del State is a historical black college.

My husband went there and has about the tightest group of college friends of anyone I know. He had a fabulous experience and met a great community. He went on to medical school and his friends are similarly successful.

DE has a bizarre desgregation history. Joe talked a little about it in the debates before the pandemic-caught flack for it, but he wasn't wrong. There was a lot of white flight, then court ordered bussing between suburban schools and wilmington city schools.

Oddly, the schools in Elkton, MD (practically next door to Newark) were much more integrated without it being engineered. I went to ES and MS there. Granted, there were definitely still racial issues in the area because of the section 8 housing developments and such, but the schools didn't have the "everyone is so white" feel to them. That said, another town in the same county had long been known as the home of the KKK in MD.
