If your child is a city person it's a great option, but keep in mind there is little-to-no school spirit and no unified campus, it's dispersed throughout the city. I think it's a great school for very independent types
8% v 11% acceptance rate. Yeah, it's like a remedial NYU.![]()
Acceptance rate isn't everything, quality of students is way more important (case in point: Northeastern). BU gets a lot of applicants but NYU's academics are significantly better. NYU's grad schools are also all significantly better.
NYU, BU, NEU all have similar student quality although NEU has the best on the paper.

(NEU #25 just before the pandemic)

Spread throughout? It's almost all along commonwealth and then Kenmore square. It's as compact as any other city campus. The only outlier is the medical school, but undergrad isn't spread out at all.

It's like two three long strips of roads. Nothing compact about it.
NYU at least has a central place, Washington Square park, and buildings are around it.
Feels much cozier and vibrant.

Do Northeastern.
It has a self contained campus in the same city of Boston.

NP here. It most definitely is spread out, moreso than GW. We visited recently, and DS took BU off his list for that very reason. He is also hoping for a higher ranked school (queue the list makers in 3,2,1...).
