Why would you get take out an hour away from home?

I’d never get tacos as take out. I stick to Thai, Chinese, pasta (but nothing in a cream sauce), pizza, burritos, salads, soups, and subs. I thought it was common knowledge that stuff like tacos don’t hold well when transporting unless Taco Bell.

Brisket tacos are a bizarre choice for takeout. How do you eco them to be good?

You made a poor choice, OP. Most of us have worked out the takeout system by now.

Were you in a coma in 2020? I feel like we all figured out what we like/what works/the best take out already and I have no idea why this would be a novel thought today

I hate take out too. It isn’t very convenient either between having to call, then wait, then pickup, drive back. It’s quicker just to cook a simple dinner and tastes better. The only exception is Indian or Thai/Vietnamese. That transports well and can sit in a container and isn’t something I can cook as well home

If I want to eat restaurant food, I'm going to a restaurant. No more pretending I can get a restaurant experience an hour later at home.

You need to make better choices. Of course a taco won't travel well. Neither do nachos or fries.

Sounds like an isolated incident that is resteraunt specific.

This. Take out serves a different purpose than going to a restaurant. Long day, exhausted, want to be cozy at home but don't want to cook--we order take out and pick wisely from the multiple cuisines that travel well. Looking to enjoy a night out--we go eat at a restaurant.

We are a take out family. We find it more enjoyable than sitting there waiting to be waited on, waiting for food that is almost always messed up, and waiting for a bill. At home, if they forget to add tomato to a sandwich we can just add it. Plus we can supplement the meal with some fresh vegetables.

Over time you find the places that work and what does not work. During the height of the pandemic, a lot of places stepped up their take out game, but some have returned to take out that is not good. We just stop ordering from there.

I still like going out to eat on occasion with friends, as all the waiting is time to talk. But with family, take out works better.

I don’t expect a restaurant experience at home.
