How do you get a 1 on an AP exam

The FCPS transcript (end of 11th grade) has a section called "Test History" and lists one line item for DC "AP Computer Science" with a performance level of "Pass". DC took AP CS in 10th grade and scored a 4. However, they also took AP World and scored a 3 which is not listed.

Does anyone know what this is and why they would have included one but not the other?

Bigger question - Will the interim report (after Semester 1, grade 12) include Pass/Fail info. for AP exams taken at the end of 11th grade?

When you request a cancellation that is! We requested scores to be canceled but the “student report” still lists the exams with a “canceled at student request” message

This is concerning as the College board message says that they will not list them at all.

Supposedly our school does not (I'm the OP) but I am going to confirm this before I make a decision. Thanks for mentioning.

It's rare for any school to require the exam. In most public and private schools, the weighted GPA is calculated based on the grade in the course, not the score on the exam. Many kids take AP classes for the GPA bump, and but do not take the exam, because it does not help with weighted GPA.

Definitely cancel low scores.
Cancellation is free and can be done at any time, with perhaps a certain processing time, so don't do it at the last minute before sending a score report.
*If you do not wish to cancel, there is a fee to withhold a score from the report sent to colleges and universities.*

DS canceled a 2 and 3, so... sure, go ahead.
It's free.

Different situation because it was senior year exam but we needed to send the other scores from college board for the 6 he was requesting credits to his college anyway so went ahead and paid the fee to cancel (one 1 and one 2) I know that it would not have made any difference in admissions but still didn’t like that the school seeing in case it is judged in some future school decision like grad school, etc. likely waste of money but we did anyway. In your case, obviously will not include 1 score on self reported AP scores in applications but might want to cancel anyway. [/quote

You are being paranoid. I sent all the scores because I didn’t want to bother with cancelling. It does to the registrar at that point, not admissions, and they just figured out what courses you get credit for.

Yea you’re paranoid. Having a 1 on an AP exam isn’t gonna hurt grad school admissions lol. I mean, wow.

Do canceled scores come out of the college board’s overall stats for the exam? Anyone know?

Unless they know that your school requires everyone to take the test.

There is not a limited time period to cancel scores, unless you requested they go to colleges when you took the test.
