This is great news. Was this recently? What was the most common highest AP Math?
Yes. She will be a “First Year” this fall. Highest math was Calc BC. At least one AP class in each subject area, including World Language.
Do you mean every subject except English?
She took AP Lang, but not AP Lit. Took DE English instead. Kids that got into UVA a year ahead of her, did the same thing.
What is DE English??
Our private does Lang in 11th and Lit in 12th.

My kids took both and said lit is way easier than language.

+1. My student, NOVA public with 4.5 and 1560, 9 AP and 4 DE engineering applicant was waitlisted at UVA. Took HONORS English in 11th and 12th over Lang and Lit.

UVA is clear about wanting the most advanced classes across all 5 core subjects
Obvious that was the point the poster was trying to make. More than qualified applicant was waitlisted when kid chose not to take AP english.

Anonymous wrote:You can those electives and still take the AP class if you want.
Your expensive guidance counselor's job is to convince AOs that your electives are better than AP. That's what you are paying for.
