10am for all the beach house rental companies in OBX.

I think that's fine as it forces us to get on the road in a timely manner. If they let us check out at noon, we would lolly-gag. 10am check out forces us to plan ahead for a simple breakfast, pack up the car the night before, etc.

4pm check-in time is late tho, especially with small kids who have big feelings.

Duh...if you have a late flight, it is very convenient to take a shower after the beach or whatever such as having to schlep or check your bags.

+1. The extra space is really nice and we put up with the hassles when our kids needed naps and early bedtimes in quiet places. But now we are back to hotels and I prefer it.

If everyone wants 7 days, there is no time for cleaners between rentals.

Would you prefer late checkout but late checkin? Maybe you can find some.

At the end of the day, it's just price for package. If you want to check out later, you can pay for an extra day and leave "early".

Maybe that end up cheaper than paying for 1 less day somewhere with less occupancy.

Totally agree. I've noticed that there's started to be some response to frustration with these to-do lists. We stayed at an Airbnb over the weekend and they specifically said there's no list, you're on vacation to relax. It was really appreciated.

A lot of the people who do these jobs are immigrants and many are undocumented immigration is way down because of the focus of republicans. This is one of the main reasons’ employers are having a hard time getting employees. It also was the reason the US population growth rate is about zero.

We don’t do rentals but hotels routinely extend checkout from 11am to noon for us. It’s rare they cannot and when they can’t they are always apologetic about it.
