+1. I've seen lots of cats hit by cars because the owner couldn't be bothered to entertain their cat inside the house or leash it outside.

Play with your cat, people. If you can't to do that, don't send it outside to get killed.

It's more like he bounds out the front door, sniffs the tree, rolls around on the warm bricks, chatters at the birds, pounces on bugs in the front yard, then sunbathes in the grass for as long as I'll let him.

This. DD walks her cat and it's more of a wander, from tree to bush to slate steps, than a power walk. He loves it too.

Yes and cats should not be let out to roam free since they are using the bathroom and hanging out on other people's properties.

I put leashes on my cats and let them into the backyard. I don't walk them around, they walk where they want to walk. But they get to go outside and they can't run off.

Same, but I like it better than just letting them outside. It's kind of cute.

I love the idea.

My big concern would be if a dog decided it wanted to eat one of the cats and lunged away from its owner. There is no safe way to pick up a scared cat without full body armor.

I saw a cat in a zipped up stroller. The dog was on a leash.

We need to normalize this, because letting your cat kill the native wildlife is not a great alternative.

Google "Adventure Cat" for ideas.

Or, you can keep your cat indoors like we did. Or, you can buy catios. But none of these gives your cat the exercise it can get through a good walk.
