Get a small farm 10-20 acres that is 75% wooded in New England or Update New York. Build an off grid house that has a cool cellar. Start a small orchard. Get a chicken coop. Start a large garden with perennials (eg asparagus, blueberries, raspberries, Jerusalem artichoke…) another one with annuals. Fence everything in and get netting for the top to stop the critters as much as you can. Make sure there are sugar maples in your forest bonus if there are apple trees. Buy seeds and seed starter containers. Build a green house. Learn to use an axe and to boil down maple sap. Make hard cider if you have enough apple trees. Eventually add a few sheep and goats too.

Buy books to read when you have down time. Learn to spin, knit and sew.

What is funny here (and sad) is that what the right wing MAGA Bishops really want is for all of us to follow their views on what is moral without criticism. No one of course is closing up Catholic organizations or institutions, no one is putting anyone in jail, no one is saying that it is illegal to hold or express MAGA Catholic views or to attend Mass. But that does not mean that the MAGA Bishops should expect to be free of criticisms. This Christian does not look to them for guidance on morality. Given the complete lack of morality and corruption for decades among many in the leadership of the Catholic Church, I will look elsewhere for moral guidance.

If the US and EU fall (meaning fall into poverty and out of rule of law) then everywhere does.

Labor is cheap so you can hire educated translators to help as hoc

Material/physical life is super high quality. Transportation, food quality, safety etc

It’s truly excellent if you don’t care to make friends with the locals

Personally, I'd go to the middle east. They are always welcoming to educated Americans.
