It happened around the corner, literally in front of Lost Dog Cafe. Person was shot several times, there were multiple witnesses, in a VERY busy area. Several shooters, masked. This is basically the same area. And at like 2pm on a Saturday. I can’t understand why people try to dismiss this kind of stuff. So just stop.

BUT we can get more technical, because last weekend 2 juveniles were arrested for robbing someone at gunpoint on that pathway between the Braddock Road metro and King Street metro. I had heard they were 14 yrs old. One was arrested at West and Wythe (is that close enough for Andrew Ankins for you?) and the other off of Cook Street near OTSFD.

It amazes me how so many dcumers don’t seem to understand that poverty and inequality breeds crime. The countries with the highest poverty and inequality are also the most dangerous. Just look at places like Brazil, Mexico, South Africa and the good ole USA.

It's incredible isn't it?! Mind boggling really.

It's just going to get much worse since City of Alexandria actively denies there is a problem and does nothing about it.

Let the gun toting fools have the area, just move out of Alexandria. When the City has no one paying taxes left maybe they will do something about it.

Can’t wait till we make suburban Arlington “more accessible” and bring this situation to our neighborhoods!

Why not try taking away any welfare/ebt money if you have more than one child. One can be an accident, two, not. Until responsibility for personal actions is implemented in these communities things will never change. One child, an involved parent/s hopefully fully responsible for that child, and a job. Once you show you are responsible and take care of your child, feel free to have another. Cut back on the benefits and stop encouraging children for single parents who cannot support them emotionally or afford them.
