Well COVID put a damper on parties for some of the younger kids. My 13 year olds friends rarely have parties anymore. Its weird.

Depends on the crowd. I think the birthday celebrations are just smaller. My 12yo has been invited to many. My 14yo shy kid even got invited to 5 birthdays this year. My youngest is 6 and she got invited to the fewest from her class. She has a classmate who is a twin and the twin’s class had lots of birthday parties but not our class. Shrug.

My son did top golf for his 14th. He has attended a movie, baseball and basketball game for birthday celebrations.

I know girls have done concerts, limo and dinner, spas and sleepovers.

My son is turning 14 this summer. He asked for a dinner with six friends (two female, 4 male). Three of the boys will sleep over afterwards, the third is not allowed to do sleepovers.
I think for teens, this is the typical kind of "party."

DS16 has been doing “just his best friends” birthday events for the last few years. Still features pizza and cake, but he doesn’t have to invite the whole class.

He’s happy with repeated Escape Room parties.

Bowlero. Very popular, but expensive and poorly run.

My son went to a park party where they did a bunch of old school games like capture the flag and sardines and when it got dark played flashlight tag. Had so much fun.
