You don’t know shit. The worst teachers teach in the least diverse areas because it’s easy and the kids do well anyway. I’ve met some laxy as shit teachers in the “W” clusters. Caring more about their clothes and classrooms. The really good teachers are in the focus snd title 1 schools because you have to be good and can’t just rely on the parents. There is way less accountability and monitoring teachers slack off all the time then brown nose parents.


And so the misinformation begins. There are diverse schools all of the county. Choose where you want to live as that is the most important part. Some schools overall have higher test scores but that says nothing about the quality of the school, teachers, or classmates. Nor is it a reflection of how your child will do. Kids all over the county score high and yet don’t go to a “W School”. Further there is whole lot of things offered in MoCo to make a students different that it might be elsewhere. Again, choose where you want to live.

I’m not from this area. I went to a diverse school where I’m from and there were high test scores. Most people went to Ivy League schools. So, I’m hoping there is something similar here.


And when was this and where? MoCo itself is diverse, more so in some areas than others. Do not get your heart set on Ivy League. There is lots of competition and these are not small schools. MoCo is a nice place and diverse, especially compared to some other places in the country but it also has an undercurrent of the Hunger Games. Prepare yourself.

My child is at a MCPS title 1 and I feel like the staff is pretty diverse (both teachers and admin). My child (Caucasian, UMC) is definitely the minority at this school but what I think what makes the school "diverse" is that there are kids from all types of backgrounds, race and income level.
