I worry about this ruling as racism is alive and well. But I never understood why Hispanics were included in the affirmative action clause.

I hope so. I feel like our society is back-sliding and reinforcing systemic racism, all because Asian kids don’t get their school of choice that they feel deeply entitled to. It’s disturbing

Agree. We are so segregated as a society. It isn’t a level playing field. The claim of a meritocracy is false.

NP and I’m curious why you don’t think affirmative action based of SES would help underrepresented groups get into selective colleges?

It’s amazing, given all this history on this forum of deleting anything that even touches sensitive issues like this, this thread is allowed to stay up, lol. But it’s a Supreme Court ruling, so it gets some air time.

Oh, but definitely don’t try to argue for strict criminal justice and against progressive criminal justice reforms, which seems like basically amounts to leniency) or the thread gets deleted.
