+1 The Aldi Specially Selected Super Premium vanilla ice cream, especially when used to make a Coke float. The best dessert I know of. Start off with Aldi branded chicken nuggets or Aldi chicken breast fillets (dipped in your favorite sauce).

The Aldi Specially Selected Super Premium ice cream comes in vanilla and chocolate. Good stuff, and much less expensive than Haagen Dazs. No gums or other nasty artificial crap.

Also - If you have the time, Cuisinart makes a great ice cream maker (sold by Williams Sonoma) with really good recipes included. It's a fun summertime activity for kids and they can make their own crazy flavors. My nephew likes to put blue food dye and chocolate chips in his batch. He calls it blue monster nice cream.
What about chocolate? I don't like vanilla

I just found this one with NO GUMS and its amazing!!! Creamy and delicious but made from organic cashew and maple syrup. No fake flavoring either.

i agree with you, the grocery store brands have gotten really gross. I used to love Friendly's ice cream, but my grocery store doesn't carry it any more.

It’s not “literally“ the only option, there are some other brands you can find at mom’s organic market that don’t use comes and of course Jeni’s which is pretty expensive but delicious! But you need to be careful with Häagen-Dazs because it’s only five ingredient ones that do not contain gums. The regular line does in fact contain gums.

😔 I wish I could say. We have a milk allergy in the house and don’t eat ice cream much. Only reason we know of this is because youngest did an ES science experiment on what melted faster - homemade or store-bought - and we picked that one (plus their Belmont one with a bunch of stabilizers) just to keep our costs down. Probably doesn’t take a whole lot to figure out that the one with all the junk in it lasted the longest…but it was a fun experiment for us (the ones who actually got to eat the leftovers)!
I agree it is really good. This vanilla and chocolate is pretty much all we buy.
I think it might actually be Haagen dazs repackaged. The vanilla ingredient lists are identical. Last year they also had pints of chocolate covered almond which was a dupe for the HD swiss chocolate almond.
But make sure it is the black container, not Belmont.
