Some states have passed laws requiring electors to vote with their party while others haven't. In those states, electors can do what they feel is best. Either way, this applies to real electors, not fake ones.
I'm explaining this for any middle school civics student that runs across this post and would benefit from the clarification.

+1 and also important to note that Trump lost Michigan by more than 150,000 votes/ three points. It was not close.
