This is exactly how my husband orders. Extra appetizers for the table, way too much food. We take it home and eat it as leftovers. Of course, he's a grown person who pays for the meal. But I wonder if this kid's parents order like this, and if he is just picking it up from a parent and isn't old/savvy enough to really understand how much it increases the costs and that it's not appropriate to do with friends who are treating you.

How often do you eat out? It sounds like a lot.

The wealth of choices is too much for this kid, no need to finance his indecisions. Eating out is way too expensive these days!
