Well I read the text message and it didn’t seem like she did, she could’ve of deleted it, but I don’t believe so. We blocked the number and told her not to talk to anyone she doesn’t know.

Its not always about what the police do or do not do right now. Later on if there is a reason to point to this prior incident, the first question will be, "Well then, why didn't you bother to file a police report?"
Also an accumulation of such reports from many people may lead them to act.
