4 year old at Beauvoir seems to be having a great time - especially all the time in the water.

For a while they were doing 2 weeks, for orchestra anyway. Very good camp.


At this year's concert, they said they will do at least 2 weeks of orchestra and band camps next year, possibly 3 weeks. They said they will cover different material in each week so you can attend more than 1 week.

We had a very lackluster experience last year at St Agnes Congo art camp. It was billed as painting and art history and my kid was tossed in a room with Crayola supplies and no structure. He’s a good artist and he didn’t produce anything nice in 2 whole weeks.

We did it to get into Congo main campus this year. My kids just finished their first session and they love it! They tell me the videos on the FB page are a good representation of their experience. Archery, horseback riding, swimming, fun special events like “messtival”. They take the bus which is super convenient. My picky eater is not complaining. Every day is the “best day ever” per my 1st and 4th graders. Worth every penny.


With a lot of these camps I have to look at who is teaching it. We do the art and science camps at St Stephens and St Agnes (not the same St Agnes Congo uses) and they are taught by the science and art teachers at the school. My kids have loved them but i think because they are real teachers with real knowledge vs teens without a real curriculum.

My kids adore Barrie. I appreciate how well-organized it seems and that the camp has strong standards for its counselors. Engaging diverse activities.

I also was impressed with the PPA soccer camp, even for my beginner.

Thank you for sharing that info. We had wanted to do band camp but the week didn’t work for us. Will revisit next year.

My kiddo's favorite so far is Levine in NW DC. She loves the camp songs and cheers.

I’m glad to her this! My kid just completed the middle
school study skills class and really liked it — was thinking we might check out some of the camps next year.

My 11yo DD just did a half day art camp at the Beachkraft in Olney. It was 1-4 which worked well with swim team in the morning, partly why I chose it. She liked it and said she would do it again next year. There were 9 kids in the class with one instructor. I think she would be bored doing it all summer although the theme changes. But for one or two weeks it was fine.

Our kid is having a blast at Sandy Spring again this summer. Very different experience from PPs - the counselors have been super engaged and fun! Admin is very responsive too.
