WES is great. Call them.

Background: we expected our son would follow his siblings to public, but end of Pre-K year it's become apparent our MCPS public elementary could be really hard for him (7 classes, high ratio), as he has some challenges with anxiety and the size of that place is enormous. Great for our other kids, but would crush him now. Our preschool has recommended we look into a private, smaller with more attention, but of course it's so late to try to find something. Appreciate any guidance, either schools or if you have had kid in similar situation. We are Catholic btw - not averse to a Catholic school, though we are not especially conservative.
Start making calls in the morning, OP! Good luck!Anonymous wrote:I am the OP, and yeah Geneva topping out at K could still potentially work for us if it gets him ready to integrate back in. But first and foremost we gotta find a) a place that’s going to work for a more anxious kid (smaller, more nurturing) and b) somehow against all odds still has slots as of late June!

The drive up 270 would be challenging, but it looks very warm on the website at least. (oh and unless Stone Ridge is changing dramatically, I don't think our son will be accepted there!)
Stone Ridge is coed through Kindergarten. But I wouldn't send my kid somewhere that would be for just a year. I'd at least want the option of continuing.
In that case Geneva Day is not a good option bc it goes to K.
