Does anyone have feedback on the academic enrichment courses at the DC campus of Sidwell summer (Programming, writing, STEM)?

This camp was terrible! We signed up for a specialty camp, and at the last minute, their instructor wasn’t able to come in. All week. So the kids basically did fuse beads and outdoor play all week. Which would be fine if I wasn’t paying the most ridiculous premium. The camp never apologized for not delivering the curriculum or offered any acknowledgment of the change in program. BEWARE!

We sent a youngster (new to school) to camp there and I feel bad for the folks who run the camp. This kid had multiple potty accidents in a row and came home with college level color theory handouts. It ruined camp for her and we regretted it. Find a good camp because there are no academic relationships between the camp and school.

My child was a Dean (used to be called Handwork) CIT and liked being able to rotate to work with campers in different arts programs each day. They liked it enough that they're planning to return for a second year as a CIT and want to be a counselor with the program when old enough. Great experience working with counselors and campers.

My son did the Sports CIT program last year in DC and loved it! He worked mostly with the soccer program but did a little with tennis as well. He reported on some workshops they did with guests (communication skills, Linkedin/resume writing, perhaps personal finance...?) and liked the time the CITs planned games and activities together. He got along well with the counselors and coaches and the sports leader. He applied to work as a counselor this year and will be working with soccer - he is looking forward to being back there this summer. He had done the day camp and soccer camp when he was younger (pre-Covid) - we always liked to programs and had no issues.
