If you are in VA, we had season passes to the Watermine for the years before we got into a pool. I hated it but the kids loved it.

Is this a joke? DC is possibly the best place in the world to raise small kids if you're looking for things to do with them.

This. So many great free or low cost things to do. So many that we had to pick and choose every weekend when DS was a toddler to 6/7 years old. Raising a child in DC can be so enriching with all the art, music, theaters, culture, etc….

Now that he is 8 and has activities, sports, etc…. we have less time for these things but still fit some in when we can.

This was on the Kid Museum (in Bethesda's website): Thanks to the generous support of Montgomery County Public Schools, any MCPS student and their family can visit KID Museum for free through August 27, 2023.

Oh the Franciscan Monastery in DC is free, so is the trolley that runs up and down King St in Alexandria. I understand depending on where you are getting to these places might negate the free aspect but you didn’t specify so I’m just throwing out ideas
