For drinks we always seltzer, gatorade, sodas, and a lot ask for water. I also have some canned Starbucks lattes and my kid likes to make coffee drinks. Usually have juice and/or tea.

Chips, hummus and salsa, popcorn, cookies (I'll usually make them if I know they're coming over), fruit, pretzel balls, etc...

It makes that perfect runny ranch that is so good at restaurants. I make a batch of this every week and set it out at dinner with a veggie tray and my 9 year old will eat a ton of vegetables with it. Sugar snap peas, carrots, sliced cucumber, broccoli and cauliflower, radish, celery.

I definitely have garbagey snack ideas because one thing I love is a snack but this is a way to add a more nutritious option into the mix too.

That…is not homemade ranch

Oh shut up. Sorry I didn’t powder my own buttermilk and dehydrate the herbs I grew and then add milk from my own farm cow to make it a dressing. You know damn well I’m this context homemade = not the bottle dressing

NP. Your explanation still doesn’t make it homemade. Anything made from a packet is by definition not homemade. It’s not bottled but ut also isn’t homemade.

Sometimes the kids come with me and pick out whatever refrig/frozen/pre-made stuff appeals to them and whatever snacks are on sale this month.

It really shouldn't be this hard.

Yep. I was going to suggest giving your teen a weekly budget and taking said teen to Trader Joe's once a week to do the shopping. Wait in the car with a cup of coffee.

Also the kids like to make homemade pizzas.

It's still better than bottled and I can't wait to try this recipe!

Do you have a "homemade" ranch recipe you could share?
