So sorry, OP.

My child loves older adults and would not have allowed her friends to do this. I am not being naive--she would bully another kid, but not a grandma!

She also wants me to hand a dollar to every person on the median asking for money and we have gotten into some very heated discussions about this. She has a big heart but only for those she perceives to be vulnerable.

They are not all bad kids but being in groups definitely makes them more likely to be rude.

I am sorry these teen girls acted so horribly. If you have not already done so, you should inform your pool’s board of directors (or pool manager) so they are aware and can document the incident. Chances are you are not the first person subject to harassment. The pool board would want to know. Hope your next visit to the pool is relaxing and free of harassment - as it should be!

The mean girls grow up and have mean daughters of their own.
I occasionally see some of my childhood bullies and they haven't changed at all in thirty/forty years.

Sounds like you taught them a lot about character and grace. At least one was affected. The ringleader is undoubtedly very insecure, that’s where it usually comes from. It takes a village and you made a difference today with your poise.

You were too kind to them. Should’ve shamed them. None of you are exceptionally attractive, and less so with those trash mouths.

I'm so sorry that happened. I agree with reporting. I so hope my children would NEVER behave like this, but if they did I would want to know.

They would spend all their free time volunteering to help the elderly and using their allowance to buy them needed items. Respect for our ancestors and the elderly in our community is a must in our family.

Op, they bully other children just as well. In fact I gave up my neighborhood pool membership in Bethesda (20816) because I could no longer tolerate the things these kids got away with, I can't imagine how any parent would allow their child to behave this way. And they know, they absolutely know. Once someone is bullied this way there is no going back, you will never go to that pool again without feeling pain. I'm sorry Op.

DMV parenting has always sucked and their kids are mean, they just don't see it, they being the parents. I'm sorry this happened to you, truly. Every time I see this little monsters behaving this way I put them in their place and yes, sometimes their parent comes over and takes me on.
