For full membership yes, but most do a summer season only membership - so all of August while it's otherwise quiet. We were able to do this at 2 different Bethesda pools the first time we tried. It's easy and it is not that expensive.

only full members are able to join swim team anyway. if you join a pool you get to - guess what - swim!

Writers on the Go, a creative writing camp, still has a couple of spots left for this summer. My kids really enjoyed it last summer.

Not true. Ours has no wait list and needs members

There might be some openings at Traveling Players Ensemble. Wonderful, close-knit program for older kids and teens.

still has some openings for that age. If the outdoors is of interest.

There are some great sleepaway camp options:

Camp Twin Creeks
Camp Hidden Meadows

All of these have space and will have many DC area campers.

Fellow procrastinator here. Just signed up DD 11 for Camp Letts two days ago. There are limited spots remaining, but there are some.

Fwiw, Fairfax just put out a list of many county camps that still have spaces, and I know of other Nova camps that have spaces too. Look around locally, OP. There are lots of camps that aren't full.
