This will be our only big international vacation with the kids, as we normally use our vacation money for grandparent visits. We are not DCUM rich, so the budget is an issue.
We want cultural bang for our buck.
My husband says we should go to Greece or Italy and/or France. I would like to go to Africa (like Kenya, Ghana, or Rwanda).
What says DCUM?

I wouldn’t do Ghana unless you have a specific family connection that is drawing you.
Agree.
You can do a Greece/Venice trip pretty easily. Or fly into Athens and out of Rome.
Are your kids history buffs? What are their interests?
Op here. What great thoughtful responses! Like all kids, my kids love seeing and learning about new things. Our lives are very routine, so they would love an adventure.
