13yo DS. Hug & kiss to start and end the day.

I'm his Dad too. I'm going to keep this routine up for as long as he's willing

My 14 DD barely wraps her arms around me when I hug her. Makes me so sad! But I also rarely hugged my parents in my teen years. I'll just continue to relish in the fact that my 9yr old DS still gives me a giant hug and kiss every day.

Yes, kisses, hugs and snuggles... they are 14 and 17 but for us is a Cultural thing! Love it.

My youngest son does this too, at age 6. I hope it lasts!

DS14 is a big hugger, even in front of friends. I'll kiss him on the check but he doesn't kiss me.

Yes--hugs, kisses, cuddle on couch while watching a show. We're pretty physically affectionate, which I love. My family of origin was more distant and I didn't like that.

My 17yo DD still tries to lie in my lap and wants me to carry her! I can sort of piggy back her but she's 8 inches taller the me.

I ask or hugs even though they don't want one now and then... this started in HS.

I said I love you every day when they left for school, my oldest always said love you too, my youngest not so much, then he did, then he didn't.

My oldest went to college and realized his friends hug their moms and dads then he was like, oh okay. So he hugs me when I visit, but now every day when he is at home. Junior year he started acting more like connecting with me was normal instead of abnormal (but he was no longer a teen).

My youngest will hug me about once a week when he is living at home. He hugs me when I arrive and leave visiting him.

? really. My DH is a Brit, and when we see his friends in the UK, they always hug and kiss me (a la Euro way, on the cheek). But the kiss on the mouth? Yuck. I think they were trying to get one in.

I am less affectionate (my culture), and DH even noticed it.

But, I hug and kiss my kids *all the time*, more with DD 14 than DS 18.

14 yr old DD, yes, a lot, every night. Sad when she can't like when I'm sick (like now).

Almost 18 yr old DS, yes, BUT, that's a recent thing. At 14, he did not want to. I think 12 to 14/15 is an awkward stage for them to demonstrate their love to their parents. At 16, he started to change, and at 17, he started to hug me more, and kiss my head (I'm much shorter than him).

17y twin boys hug and kiss us (2 moms) voluntarily every day and always say "i love you" when we drop off or leave each other...even in front of their friends.

I love how affectionate they are.
