Franklin is not near the size of Carson.

What does that have to do with anything?

Carson is about 60% larger than Franklin. They could've done two in-person inductions if there were too many for one ceremony.

They are already doing them in 3 sessions. It’s too much disruption to have parents coming on 3 different days within a week. Get over it!

Carson parents already received an email about it. Basically anyone who was invited to apply and who filled out the application was accepted.
And maintain the 3.75 8th grade year. Some middle schools it is 3.5 gpa, it makes zero sense why it isn’t the same for all.

What is the point of NJHS - is it just students above a certain GPA who fill out the application? (Honest question.)

It had value for my son because it led him to do some volunteer work that he would not have otherwise done. But I think that if your child already does so through another organization (like scouts), there is likely little point to it.

I was also thinking there may be a social benefit, as all of his friends joined.

The sponsor at our school was pretty honest. "It's good practice for filling out forms in high school."

We didn't see the point.

I think having students do more service hours is a good thing. I see the point.

my kid does service hours unrelated to this.

Bull. We didn’t find out the sponsor even was until the induction email.

The point of the club is for students to do more service hours. You don’t need to have done any to get in though.
