We already know! We just ate realistic about (1) the likelihood the kid will stop without a million reminder and (2) the fact that drinking that water will have any impact at all.

I wouldn’t be offended if you told me - I would say, “I know! I have been watching her do that - kids are crazy!” Because I supervise my kids closely but don’t correct them about dumb stuff

I don't parent other kid's children unless they are doing something actually dangerous (beyond potentially getting an upset stomach) or doing something that impacts my kid.

My 2 year old has sensory issues and ppl are always saying "oh no he's eating sand"... or whatever it is. Pediatrician said as long as it was a choking hazard its fine... but ugh that stage where he put all the rocks in his mouth was rough.

Not my circus, not my monkey.

I wouldn't be offended but also wouldn't care much if you approached me. I would be OK with you gently saying that water is not for drinking, but would be annoyed at any behavior beyond that. Don't redirect my kid, or keep repeating yourself or anything like that. Drinking from a splash pad is low on the list of things that would bother me, and I like to save my redirecting energy for things that matter more.

I wouldn’t say anything for a couple of reasons. Who cares but more importantly, if they get sick, then the parent should’ve been watching them to begin with.

It was totally fine to say but also no biggie if the kid ignored. Everyone has different tolerances. I would probably tell my kid to cut it out but not expect another parent to tell me.

My SIL will never let her now grown kids eat sushi. We eat sushi at least twice a month. To each their own.

I would assume you're a very new mom or one that never spends time with her children if this is novel behavior for you to witness.

You could tell me but I'd just shrug. My kid has never had a stomach bug and honestly drinking splash pad water is low on the list I'm gonna bug my kid about. I generally try to save my "no don't do xyz" for things that will actually hurt someone or feels socially irresponsible.
