I agree that AC is more enjoyable and the sound is better indoors. It’s just a novelty thing for kids. Just something different to do, but not over the top terrific.

I don’t like “Game of Thrones” but no one needs to “help me understand” that it was a very popular show with a large and devoted audience. When did you miss the basic life lesson that different people like different things?

PP, you should write a post titled “Help me understand why someone would write a post asking for help understanding why other people like things they don’t like.”
The truth is sometimes someone will post a reason that the first person hadn’t considered and it might even make the person asking the question change their minds or view the activity in a different way.

I enjoyed watching A League Of Their Own on that big screen outside at Mosaic a few years ago but there were no mosquitos. If there were I could not sit outside and watch a movie.

Also, I hate camping just in case anybody wants to know that too. I've heard some people actually get enjoyment from that.

I'm a mosquito magnet originally from a dry climate who can't for the life of me understand my people like outdoor movies and performances on summer nights in this swampy region!

I think it’s a fun feature in theory for when you’re hosting a BBQ, or when you don’t have room to host that many people inside. However, it’s too oppressively humid and buggy here on summer nights for me to sit through that. Our neighbor projects a movie on the side of his house every fall, which works out great weather-wise.

I think people do it with little kids they don’t want to have to entertain/supervise. But I agree, mine never stayed up late enough to partake.

Ability to give the kids a crowd watching experience like a movie theater without actually having to go to a movie theater, including ability to run around and not sit still and silent (not annoying other people). Ability to leave whenever you want without feeling like you're interrupting other or wasted a ton of money.
