I'm pretty sure she means regular, no casing chicken sausage, like Hello Fresh uses.

I haven't found it in stores. So I just add extras at the end of the weekly selection

Jimmy Dean turkey sausage patties or links. In the fridge with the bacon, not in the meat or sandwich meat section. I promise this is what you’re looking for.

Apple gate No sugar Chicken Sausage. Wegmans has it (at least the one in Germantown)

FWIW, OP, I don't find that the "apple" actually adds any kind of fancy flavor that they would notice. It just helps retain moisture and brighten things a bit. If you didn't tell them it has apple, I bet everyone would think it's just plain chicken sausage ... but really good chicken sausage.

Feta and roasted red pepper are different, those actually change the flavor and would be noticeable.

My kiddo likes the chicken sausage they serve at Silver Diner and Ted’s Bulletin. Where can I find something similar in a grocery? He does not want anything fancy with apple or red pepper or feta or whatever other flavorings like what I seem to always find in the stores.

Tips?

Is there a reason you want chicken vs. turkey? Sometimes the latter is easier to find.

I buy the Amylu chicken sausage links at Costco and Jones Dairy Farm turkey sausage patties at Giant. They both have the traditional sage seasoning that one would find in "low class" (lol) pork breakfast sausage.

I don't use roadkill, but we make our own chicken sausage. I just make bulk, or patties so the issue of casing doesn't come up.

I eat Blinski’s s Chicken sausage from WF specifically because it doesn’t have casing. I like it but I don’t know how it compares to your target sausage.

I have seen plain chicken sausage in giant and safeway. For some reason, there is often we-laces for sausage. One in the meat section, that has the fancy kind (feta, etc) and the other where you would find bacon and precooked sausage.

Find a dead roadkill chicken, make own sausage.
