I guess it is all cosmetic but it reminds me that a house can look bland on the outside and horrendous on the inside.

I have no idea about the market in SS or what it will go for. I do love old houses, grew up in one, have always bought them and hate to see this happen. Poor old house.
I completely agree with you, really awful reno. I would not have guessed this was a historic house. But there are plenty of buyers who remain into the HGTV farmhouse style.

Anonymous wrote:Oh, they ruined that poor house. I would have loved it before they gave it an open floor plan and all new floors etc. Why can’t people mess with ugly 1980’s houses instead of historic ones?

You're all ridiculous and dramatic. This is a vast improvement over what it used to be. And those insane number of beams are easily removed. House-Hate is a sport on this forum.
PS - it will go fast. For over ask.

Sure, Jan.
Ooooo burn....good one! So creative. So deep. So thought provoking. Work on your debating skills. I'm fine if you disagree with my opinion, but the "sure Jan" response shows me you literally have no thoughts running around inside that head of yours.

Strange comment. How do you know "what it used to be"? Are you referring to what it was in the early 1900s? If that's the standard, then sure I guess it's probably an improvement.
