Mine have lots of scratching posts they use but still need their nails trimmed regularly. They get sharp! I do it myself. One is pretty chill but sometimes gets annoyed by the second paw so we take breaks. The other hates it so DH holds him while I clip or I will wrap him in a towel if I do it myself.

We do get our dogs nails done professionally. Usually it’s when he’s boarded so I don’t know the cost. He has black nails with long quicks and so he’s hard to trim.

If it is too much, then I have an idea....learn to do it yourself!!! Vets office charge more because truth be told they do not want to trim nails...Petco or a groomer will do it for a lower price. Go there.

I was charged $30 to trim nails on four paws. I think that this it TOO MUCH to charge!

There are a lot of things that we pay for now that we didn't used to. I don't think it is unbelievable.

A veterinarian should never be obligated to give away a nail trim. It takes time and effort on the part of at least two employees. If you don't like the fee, do it yourself....

Somehow the scratch pads turn my cat’s nails into talons.

Despite having grown up with 2 cats, you know remarkably little about cats and why people are having their nails trimmed. I thought it was obvious, but wow.


Well help me out then. Don't just say "WOW". How did my two cats survive without having their nails trimmed ever?
